Find the path to a value in a JS object
Paste a JSON object and the value you're looking for: the tool lists every JavaScript access path (a.b[0].c notation) that leads to that value, very handy for locating data in a nested API response.
How it works
The tool recursively walks the entire JSON object, property by property and element by element in arrays, comparing every value it encounters with the value you're looking for. Each match is reported with its full access path, exactly as you would write it in JavaScript to reach that value.
How are keys containing spaces or hyphens written?
If a key is not a valid JavaScript identifier (for example "user-id" or "2fa"), the path uses bracket notation with quotes, such as data["user-id"], instead of dot notation.
Can I search for a whole object or array, not just a simple value?
Yes: if you enter, for example, {"level":"error","code":500} as the search value, the tool will also compare nested objects and arrays in their entirety, not just leaf values such as strings or numbers.
Your JSON stays in your browser: no data is sent to a server during the analysis.
