Convert JPG to PNG
Turn your JPG photos into PNG images in batches, right in your browser. PNG preserves every pixel with no quality loss and lets you add transparency in later edits.
Why convert a JPG to PNG?
The JPG format uses lossy compression to reduce file size, which can introduce slight compression artifacts and doesn't allow any transparency. PNG encodes every pixel losslessly and supports an alpha channel: it's better for logos, screenshots, and images meant to be edited further or layered over other graphic elements.
Will the resulting PNG be larger than the original JPG?
Yes, in most cases: since PNG applies no lossy compression, the resulting file is usually larger than a JPG, especially for photos rich in detail. That's the normal trade-off between file size and pixel-perfect fidelity.
Does the conversion add transparency to my image?
No, a JPG photo never has an alpha channel because the format doesn't support one: the generated PNG will therefore be fully opaque, just like the original. You can then add transparency manually with an editing tool if needed.
100% local processing: the conversion happens entirely in your browser via WebAssembly, and your images are never sent to a server.
