Keyword density checker
Paste a page's text to see which words appear most often, as a percentage of the total.
How it works
A keyword density that's too low can mean a page doesn't clearly target a topic, while an excessive density (“keyword stuffing”) can be penalized by search engines. Paste a page's content to quickly spot the dominant terms and check that they match the intended topic, without overdoing it.
What keyword density is considered healthy?
There's no strict rule, but a density between 1% and 3% for the main keyword is generally considered natural. Beyond that, the text can look artificial to readers and search engines alike.
Why don't words like “the”, “of” or “and” appear?
These very common words (stop words) are automatically excluded from the density calculation because they say nothing about the topic of the text. Only meaningful words are counted, although the percentage is still calculated against the total number of words.
The analysis runs entirely in your browser via WebAssembly. Your text never leaves your device.
