How it works
Building a coherent fantasy world often means naming several kingdoms, city-states or rival territories. Depending on the style you choose, this tool combines invented syllables with evocative endings ("-guard", "-heim", "-mark"...) or classic noble vocabulary (crown, throne, scepter) to instantly generate several believable kingdom names that are different from one another.
Which style should I choose for my world?
The “The Kingdom of...” style suits classic storytelling, spoken or written (tales, novels). The invented name on its own (like a real place name) works better for a map or a video game where the name needs to be short. The “adjective + name” style has a grander, more ceremonial tone, suited to an empire or a great power.
Can I combine several generated kingdoms to create a full map?
Yes. Generate a dozen names at once and pick the ones that sound best together to populate your map. Varying the styles keeps all the kingdoms from sounding too similar.
Nothing is sent to a server: each name is composed directly in your browser's memory.
