Leetspeak converter (l33t sp34k)
Turn any text into leetspeak by replacing certain letters with look-alike numbers (a → 4, e → 3, i → 1, etc.), for a username, a retro message or just for fun.
How it works
Each letter that has a visually similar number is replaced: a becomes 4, e becomes 3, i becomes 1, o becomes 0, s becomes 5, t becomes 7, l becomes 1, g becomes 9 and b becomes 8. The original case doesn't matter for these letters since they turn into numbers; all other characters stay unchanged. This is the classic “leet speak” used in internet culture, in video game usernames, or to get around basic keyword filters.
Are all letters converted?
No, only the letters a, e, i, o, s, t, l, g and b have an equivalent number in this mapping table. Other letters, punctuation and existing digits stay unchanged.
Can I convert leetspeak back to normal text?
No, this conversion can't be reversed automatically because some digits (like 1 or 0) can stand for several different letters depending on the context. You'd have to replace the digits manually to get the original text back.
100% local processing: your text never leaves your browser, and the conversion happens entirely on your device via WebAssembly.
