How it works

Inspired by the famous "Magic 8-Ball" toy invented in the United States in the 1950s, this online version uses the 18 original answers from the game, split between positive, negative and noncommittal ones. Type your yes/no question, click "Shake the ball" and see the answer after a short animation.

Does the ball really answer in a balanced way?

Yes: each of the 18 possible answers (8 positive, 5 negative, 5 noncommittal) has the same probability of appearing on every draw, regardless of the question asked or the previous answers.

Can I ask several questions in a row?

Of course, there is no limit: change your question and shake the ball as many times as you like, each draw being completely independent of the previous one.

The question you type stays on your device: it is neither sent nor stored on a server, everything happens in your browser.
