Meta robots tag generator
Choose the indexing and link-following directives you want to generate the matching <meta name="robots"> tag, to paste into the <head> of your page.
How it works
The meta robots tag tells search engines how to handle a specific page: should it be indexed, should its outgoing links be followed, should a cached copy be kept, or should a snippet be shown in search results? This tool combines your choices into a properly formatted content value, ready to paste into the <head> of your HTML page.
What is the difference between noindex and nofollow?
noindex keeps the page itself out of search results, while nofollow tells crawlers not to follow the links on that page. You can perfectly well want to index a page without following its links, or the other way around — the two directives are independent.
When should I use noarchive or nosnippet?
noarchive is useful to stop Google from offering a cached version of a page whose content changes often or should stay confidential once removed. nosnippet prevents a text snippet or a video/image preview from appearing in search results, for example for a page whose content you don't want to expose before the click.
100% local processing: the tag is generated entirely in your browser via WebAssembly, with no call to any server.
