How it works

Rehearsing a piece and need a click track at an exact tempo, without installing a dedicated metronome app? This tool generates a short click on every beat, spaced according to the tempo (BPM) you choose, and encodes it all into a WAV file ready to play or import into audio editing software.

How does the tempo (BPM) determine the spacing of the clicks?

BPM stands for "beats per minute": at 120 BPM there is one click every 0.5 seconds (60 seconds / 120). The tool calculates that exact interval and places a brief click followed by silence until the next beat.

Can I generate a longer metronome track by simply changing the number of beats?

Yes, increase the "Number of beats" field to get a longer track: at 120 BPM, 120 beats come to about one minute of audio.
