Online minesweeper
Reveal all the cells without a mine by using the numbers indicating how many mines are nearby, and place flags to mark suspicious cells. The game runs entirely in your browser.
Left click: reveal — Right click: place a flag
How it works
Under each cell hides either a mine or a number indicating how many mines are in the eight neighboring cells. Click to reveal a cell: if it's a mine, the game is lost; if the revealed number is 0, all neighboring mine-free cells reveal themselves automatically in a cascade, which speeds up exploration of safe areas.
Why does my first click never hit a mine?
Mines are only placed after your very first click, and never in the clicked cell nor in the eight cells directly around it: this guarantees a start to the game without an immediate bad surprise, as in most classic versions of minesweeper.
What are the flags for?
Right-clicking (or long-pressing on mobile via the context menu) places or removes a flag on a cell you suspect hides a mine, without revealing it. This helps you mentally visualize dangerous areas and avoid clicking on them by mistake; the mines remaining counter at the top updates based on the number of flags placed.
The grid and your progress stay entirely in your browser: nothing is sent to a server.
