Noise texture generator

Generate a customizable noise (grain) texture, in color or grayscale, to dress up a website background, a banner or a graphic — no image to upload, everything is generated on the fly.

How it works

Each pixel of the texture gets an independent random intensity and transparency, within the density and opacity limits you set. The result is a noise texture with a transparent background, ready to be layered over a color, a gradient or a photo to add grain and texture to a graphic.

Is this texture truly tileable (repeatable without visible seams)?

Yes: since each pixel is generated independently at random, there is no pattern continuity to preserve at the edges. When you tile the texture (for example with a CSS repeat background), no seam is visible, unlike patterns made of repeated shapes.

How do I get a fine grain like analog photo film?

Set a moderate density (30 to 50%), a low opacity (15 to 25%) and leave grayscale mode on: layered in "overlay" or "soft light" blend mode in an image editor, the result gives a subtle analog film grain effect.

100% local generation: the texture is computed entirely in your browser via Canvas, with no data sent to a server.
