Number line generator
Create a custom number line with your own range, tick step and optional marked points to illustrate a math exercise. Export it as an SVG or PNG image.
How it works
Set the minimum and maximum of the line and the step between ticks: the line updates instantly. You can also list specific points to mark in red, separated by commas, to illustrate a number-placement exercise.
Can I use decimal or negative numbers?
Yes, the range, step and marked points accept negative numbers and decimals alike (for example a step of 0.5), so you can create number lines suited to elementary school as well as more advanced exercises on signed numbers.
What is a number line used for in math?
It lets you visualize the order of numbers, compare values, illustrate addition or subtraction as movements along the line, or place signed numbers relative to zero.
The line is generated and exported entirely in your browser, with no data sent to a server.
