Number the pages of a PDF
Add a page number at the bottom of each page of a PDF document, starting from the number of your choice.
How it works
An internship report, a thesis, or an administrative file exported from a word processor doesn't always have built-in page numbering, especially when it's assembled from several scanned or merged documents. This tool adds a page number at the bottom of each page of the PDF, in order, starting from the number you choose — handy for resuming numbering after a cover page or table of contents that shouldn't be counted.
Can I choose the starting number?
Yes. The "Number starting from" field lets you set the first number that will be printed on the first page of the document (for example, starting at 3 if the first two pages are a cover and a table of contents you don't consider numbered, but which are physically included in the file).
Does the numbering replace an existing number or add on top of it?
The numbering is added as an overlay at the bottom of each page; it does not detect or remove a page number already present in the original content of the PDF. If your document already has manual numbering, avoid running it through this tool to prevent overlapping two different numbers.
The PDF is processed entirely in your browser thanks to WebAssembly — your document is never sent to a server.
