TOTP code generator
Generate a TOTP (time-based one-time password) code from a base32 secret key, useful for testing a two-factor authentication (2FA) integration without reaching for your phone.
How it works
TOTP (Time-based One-Time Password) is the algorithm used by most authenticator apps (Google Authenticator, Authy, etc.). It combines a shared secret key with the current time divided into time steps (typically 30 seconds) to produce a one-time code via HMAC-SHA1. This tool recomputes exactly the same code as your mobile app, from the same secret key.
Where do I find my base32 secret key?
When a service enables two-factor authentication, it usually displays a QR code and, below it, a text key to "enter manually": that string (often in uppercase, without spaces) is what you need to paste here.
Why doesn't the code I get match my app?
The calculation depends on your computer's exact time. If your device's clock is off by more than a few seconds from the real time, the generated code will differ from the one in your mobile app, which usually syncs with a time server.
<strong>100% local processing:</strong> the calculation runs entirely in your browser via WebAssembly; your secret key is never sent to a server.
