Overtime pay calculator
Estimate your pay with premium-rate overtime hours, using a customizable two-tier scale (25% then 50% by default, matching the default French statutory scale). Calculation is entirely local, in your browser.
How it works
Hours worked beyond the contractual duration are split into two premium tiers: a first tier (8 hours by default, corresponding to hours 36 to 43 under the French legal framework of a 35-hour base) paid at a 25% premium, then a second tier paid at a 50% premium beyond that. These settings are fully editable to fit your collective agreement or your country.
Does this calculation exactly match French labor law?
It follows the default scale of the French Labor Code (25% premium for the first 8 overtime hours per week, 50% beyond), but many collective agreements or company agreements set different rules (premium rates, thresholds, or compensatory time off instead of payment). Always check your collective agreement or your contract for a guaranteed exact calculation.
Is this amount net or gross?
The result shown is a gross amount, before deduction of social contributions and withholding tax. The net amount on your payslip will therefore be lower than this total, by a proportion that depends on your status and your contribution rate.
Your hourly rate and hours worked are only used locally, in your browser, for this estimate.
