Palindrome checker
Check whether a word, sentence, or expression is a palindrome (it reads the same way in both directions), automatically ignoring spaces, punctuation, and case.
How it works
A palindrome is a word or sentence that reads the same way from left to right and right to left, like "kayak" or "A man, a plan, a canal, Panama". The entered text is first normalized (lowercase, spaces and punctuation removed) and then compared to its reversed version to determine whether it is indeed a palindrome.
Do spaces and accents count in the check?
No, only alphanumeric characters are kept during normalization. Spaces, punctuation, and case are ignored, which makes it possible to detect palindromes even in the form of full sentences.
Can a single word be a palindrome?
Yes, short words like "radar", "kayak", or "level" are palindromes on their own, just like entire sentences once punctuation and spaces are removed.
