Remove annotations from a PDF

How it works

Each page of a PDF can carry a list of annotations (notes, highlights, stamps, shapes) stored separately from the page's main content. This tool removes that list from every page of the document, which makes all annotations disappear while leaving the original text and images intact.

Are interactive form fields removed too?

No: form fields (checkboxes, text boxes) are technically a type of annotation, but this tool deliberately preserves them so it doesn't break a form that is still being filled in. If you also want to remove the interactive fields, use the form locking (flattening) tool instead.

Can I recover the annotations afterward?

No, once the file is downloaded, the removed annotations are no longer present in the new document. Keep a copy of the original if you think you may need to consult those comments later.

100% local processing: removal happens entirely in your browser — your document is never sent to a server.
