Create a PDF booklet (brochure imposition)
Rearranges the pages of a PDF into "booklet" format: two pages side by side on each landscape A4 sheet, in the order needed so that after double-sided printing, folding in half, and center stapling, the pages end up in the correct reading order.
How it works
The page count is first rounded up to a multiple of 4 (virtual blank pages are added if needed). The pages are then arranged in the classic saddle-stitch folding order: the first printed sheet carries the last and first pages of the document, the second sheet carries the second and second-to-last pages, and so on, working toward the center.
How do I print the booklet correctly?
Print the generated PDF double-sided, flipping the sheets on the short edge, then stack the printed sheets, fold the whole stack in half, and staple at the center: the pages will then be in the original reading order.
What happens if the page count isn't a multiple of 4?
The tool automatically adds empty slots (blank pages) at the end of the document to reach the next multiple of 4, which is required for a booklet folded in half to work correctly.
The booklet imposition is calculated entirely in your browser using the pdf-lib library — your document is never sent to a server.
