Generate PDF bookmarks

Add clickable bookmarks to a PDF's navigation panel from a simple "title → page" list, so you can quickly find each section in a compatible PDF reader (Acrobat Reader, most browsers, etc.).

Example:
Malformed lines, or lines pointing to a page outside the document, are ignored.

How it works

Bookmarks (also called an "outline") make up the navigation panel that most PDF readers show on the side: clicking an entry jumps straight to the corresponding page. This tool builds that structure directly in the PDF file from the list of titles and page numbers you provide, leaving the rest of the document unchanged.

Which PDF readers display these bookmarks?

Adobe Acrobat Reader, most browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge), and many mobile PDF readers display a "Bookmarks" or "Table of contents" panel based on this same standard PDF structure.

Can I create nested bookmarks (subchapters)?

No, this version only generates a flat list of bookmarks, without a parent/child hierarchy: each entry points directly to its page, which suits most documents (reports, guides, theses) without a complex nested chapter structure.

100% local processing: the PDF is modified entirely in your browser and is never sent to a server.
