Split two-page scans into single pages
Some book scans capture two pages side by side in a single image. This tool splits each page of the PDF into two halves (left and right) and rebuilds a new PDF with one page per image, in the reading order you choose.
How it works
Each page of the source PDF is rendered as an image, then cut vertically down the middle to produce two halves. Each half becomes its own page in the output PDF, in the order set by the reading direction you choose.
What if the cut doesn't fall exactly between the two pages?
This tool always cuts at the exact middle of the image. If your scan isn't perfectly centered, a small part of one page may end up on the wrong side: for a perfect result, crop the scan before uploading using the site's crop tool.
Why choose a right-to-left reading direction?
For books read from right to left (manga, some Arabic or Hebrew books), the right half of each scan is the page that should appear first in the final document: this setting reverses the order in which the two halves are inserted.
Page rendering and splitting happen entirely in your browser (pdf.js for rendering, WebAssembly for reassembly) — your PDF is never sent to a server.
