Embed fonts in a PDF
Analyze the fonts used in a PDF to see which ones are already embedded in the file and which aren't, then try to automatically embed any missing standard fonts. 100% local processing in your browser — your file never leaves your device.
How it works
A PDF can reference a font without embedding its data (glyphs): display then depends on an equivalent font installed on the device that opens it, which can slightly change the layout from one computer to another. For each font used, this tool detects whether its data is already present in the file (FontFile/FontFile2/FontFile3 in the font descriptor), and can then embed the 14 standard PDF fonts (Helvetica, Times, Courier and their variants) when they aren't already.
Why aren't some non-embedded fonts fixed?
This tool can only embed the standard PDF fonts, whose data is provided by the browser itself. For a custom font (a brand font, for example), it would need the original font file, which this tool doesn't have and will never try to download from a third-party service.
Will the text look different after embedding?
No: the standard fonts that are replaced have the same metrics as those PDF readers already use to display them. Embedding only adds the font data to the file to guarantee identical rendering on every device, including those that don't have the font installed.
100% local processing: analysis and embedding happen entirely in your browser — your PDF is never sent to a server.
