Extract attachments from a PDF
Upload a PDF to list and individually download the files embedded in it as attachments. 100% local processing in your browser — your file never leaves your device.
How it works
This tool walks through the PDF's internal structure (the embedded files name tree), finds each declared attachment, decodes it and offers an individual download link to retrieve the original file in its native format.
Some attachments say "decoding failed": why?
Some PDFs store their attachments with an unusual compression filter or nested structure that this tool can't always fully decode. In that case, the name and approximate size are still displayed, but the content can't be downloaded.
Are all of a PDF's attachments listed in a PDF reader's "attachments" panel?
Usually yes, but some PDFs also use attachments tied to a specific annotation (a paperclip icon on the page) rather than to the document's global name tree: this rarer case isn't covered by this tool, which focuses on document-level attachments.
100% local processing: extraction happens entirely in your browser — your PDF is never sent to a server.
