List the fonts used in a PDF

Import a PDF to display the sorted, deduplicated list of all the fonts it uses.

Drag and drop your PDF here, or click to select it (100 MB max).

How it works

Useful before sending a PDF to a professional printer or checking that a document follows a brand guideline: this tool goes through every page, resolves the font resources (including those inherited from the document's tree), and displays the base name of each font found, stripped of the technical subset prefix (like ABCDEF+) that some software adds automatically.

Why do some font names contain an odd prefix?

When a PDF embeds only a subset of a font's glyphs (to reduce file size), the font name is prefixed with six random uppercase letters followed by a + (e.g., ABCDEF+Helvetica). This tool automatically strips this prefix to show only the readable font name.

Does this list include non-embedded fonts?

Yes: the list shows the name of every font referenced in the document, whether it is embedded in the file or simply referenced by name (standard fonts like Helvetica, Times, or Arial, which the PDF reader must then supply itself).

100% local processing: the analysis happens entirely in your browser via WebAssembly — your PDF is never sent to a server.
