Add a header and footer to a PDF
Enter a header and/or footer text: it will be added to every page of the document, at the top left and bottom left.
How it works
Ideal for adding the word "Confidential," a project name, or a generation date on every page of a report before sharing it, without having to reopen the original document in a layout program. The text is drawn at the top and/or bottom of each page, with a standard font (Helvetica) that doesn't need to be embedded in the file.
Can I automatically number the pages with this tool?
No, the text entered here is identical on every page. For numbering that varies page by page (1, 2, 3, ...), use our dedicated PDF page numbering tool instead.
Does the text adapt to pages of different sizes?
Yes, the position of the header and footer is calculated relative to the actual size of each page (its MediaBox), so the text stays correctly placed even if some pages of the document have a different format from the others.
Adding the text is calculated entirely in your browser via WebAssembly — your PDF is never sent to a server.
