PDF org chart generator
List your team's positions with their name, title and who they report to: the tool automatically calculates the hierarchy levels and draws a clear org chart as a PDF, entirely in your browser.
How it works
For each position without a valid "reports to", the tool creates a level 0 (the top of the org chart). It then works out the following levels by finding, at each step, the positions that report to someone already placed at the previous level, until everyone is placed. Each level is then drawn as boxes spread horizontally across the page width, connected by lines to their parent box.
What happens if a position reports to a name that isn't in the list?
If the "reports to" field doesn't match the exact name of any other position in the list, that position is automatically treated as a level 0 top node, just like a position with no hierarchy set. Check the exact spelling of names if a position appears at the wrong level.
Does the tool detect hierarchy loops?
Yes. If a position reports directly or indirectly to itself (for example A reports to B and B reports to A), the algorithm can't place all the positions and shows a clear error message rather than generating an incorrect org chart or freezing the browser.
How many positions can I add?
There's no technical limit, but beyond about thirty positions on a single landscape A4 page, the boxes become very narrow and text may be cut off after two lines: for a large organization, prefer several org charts, one per department.
Everything happens on your machine: the hierarchy and the PDF are calculated locally in your browser, without ever sending your list of employees to a server.
