View a PDF's bookmarks (outline)
Import a PDF to display the hierarchical list of its bookmarks (built-in table of contents).
How it works
Many PDFs generated from Word, LaTeX, or publishing software embed a navigable table of contents (the "bookmarks" shown in the side panel of a PDF reader). This tool reads that structure directly from the file and displays it as an indented list, without needing to open the document in a dedicated reader.
What if no bookmarks are shown?
This simply means the PDF has no built-in table of contents — many documents (scans, simple exports) don't have one. This is not an error: the list is then empty.
Does the indentation match the heading levels?
Yes, each bookmark is displayed with an indent proportional to its level in the hierarchy: top-level bookmarks are not indented, their sub-bookmarks are indented one step further, and so on.
100% local processing: reading the bookmarks happens entirely in your browser via WebAssembly — your PDF is never sent to a server.
