Check a PDF's double-sided page order

Before starting a double-sided print job, check that your PDF has an even number of pages so that every printed sheet has both a front and a back, with no offset or unexpected blank page.

How it works

In double-sided printing, each physical sheet carries two pages of the document: one on the front and one on the back. If the document has an odd number of pages, the last sheet ends up with a blank back (or, depending on the printer and driver, the last page may unexpectedly spill onto a new sheet). This tool simply reads the total page count and tells you whether it is even or odd before you print.

What should I do if my PDF has an odd number of pages?

Add a blank page at the end of the document with our PDF blank page insertion tool so the total page count becomes even again and double-sided printing goes smoothly.

Does this tool reorder pages for printing?

No, it only checks whether the page count is even or odd. To prepare a specific page order for double-sided printing (for example for a booklet or a folded brochure), use our duplex printing helper tool.
