Remove blank pages from a PDF
Clean up a scanned document that contains unwanted blank pages (empty backs, scanner feeder separators) by detecting and automatically removing them.
How it works
After scanning several double-sided documents (some of which were only printed on one side), or after going through an automatic scanner feeder, it's common to end up with a PDF containing entirely blank pages, interspersed between the useful pages. This tool examines each page: if it contains neither detectable text nor an image, it is considered empty and removed from the document; the other pages are kept unchanged and in their original order.
Will a page with just a logo or a light watermark be removed by mistake?
No: detection isn't based solely on the absence of text, it also checks for the absence of any embedded image on the page. A page containing a logo, a scanned signature, or any other image element is therefore kept, even if it contains no text.
What happens if all pages are detected as blank?
As a safety measure, if the analysis concludes that all pages of the document would be blank, no page is removed: the original PDF is returned as-is rather than producing an unusable empty file.
