How it works

The same phone number can be written in several ways depending on the context: national format with spaces for easy reading, international format with the country code for use abroad or in a strict form field, or compact format without spaces for a data export. This tool normalizes your input (removing any spaces, dots or hyphens already present) and then generates these different formats.

How do I enter a French number correctly?

Enter the number the way it is usually given to you, with or without the leading 0, with or without spaces (for example "0612345678" or "06 12 34 56 78"), leaving the country code set to "33". The tool automatically detects and removes any international prefix already present (+33 or 0033) before reformatting.

Does the tool check that the number actually exists?

No, it only checks that the number of digits is consistent with the selected country code (9 digits after the prefix for France) and reformats your input accordingly. It does not check whether the number is assigned to an active line, which would require querying a telephone carrier.

Formatting is done locally in your browser: the number you enter is never sent to a server.
