Pig Latin converter
Convert English text to Pig Latin, the word game that moves the leading consonants of each word to the end and adds "ay", a playful classic and a good exercise for learning string manipulation. 100% local processing in your browser (WebAssembly), nothing is sent to a server.
How it works
For each word, if it starts with a vowel (a, e, i, o, u), "way" is simply added to the end. Otherwise, the group of leading consonants is moved to the end and "ay" is added (for example "pig" becomes "igpay", "latin" becomes "atinlay"). The initial capital letter of the original word is preserved on the new word.
Does Pig Latin work with French text?
The algorithm detects the standard Latin vowels (a, e, i, o, u), so it can technically be applied to French text, but Pig Latin is historically an English-language word game and gives a more "natural" result on English words.
Is punctuation attached to a word a problem?
Punctuation at the end of a word (such as a comma or period) is detected and left in place after the word is transformed, so the text stays readable without altering the original.
100% local processing: your text never leaves your browser, and the conversion runs entirely via WebAssembly on your device.
