How it works
On the shelf, the "big" pack isn't always the most economical: promotions, multi-pack formats, and different units (grams, milliliters, units) make comparison hard to judge by eye. This tool converts each product to a common unit (kilo or liter) and calculates the price per unit, so you can directly compare different formats.
Why convert to kilo or liter rather than keep the original unit?
A product sold in grams and another in kilos aren't directly comparable without conversion. By systematically converting grams to kilos and milliliters to liters, the tool ensures that the "unit price" shown has the same basis for all products compared, regardless of the unit originally entered.
Does this tool work for products sold per unit (not by weight)?
Yes, choose "units" as the unit of measure to compare, for example, a pack of 6 yogurts to a pack of 12: the tool will then calculate a price per individual unit rather than a price by weight or volume.
