Event QR code (calendar)

Fill in the details of an event and get a QR code in iCalendar (VEVENT) format: by scanning it, your guests can add the event straight to their calendar. 100% local processing in your browser — nothing is sent to a server.

How it works

The iCalendar format (.ics extension, VEVENT block) is natively supported by Google Calendar, Outlook, Apple Calendar, and most mobile calendar apps. This tool builds that block from the information you enter (title, description, location, times), then encodes the resulting text directly into a QR code: scanning it opens the add-to-calendar screen, so guests never have to retype anything.

What happens if I scan this QR code with my phone?

Depending on the default calendar app installed, the phone usually offers to add the event straight to your calendar, pre-filled with the title, time, location, and description entered here — the same behavior as opening a regular .ics file.

Why is a downloadable .ics file also offered?

Some QR code readers don't always interpret VEVENT content as a calendar event (they sometimes display it as plain text). The downloadable .ics file remains the most reliable option to attach directly to an email invitation if you'd rather avoid that uncertainty.

100% local processing: the event and the QR code are built entirely in your browser via WebAssembly.
