  • Au Cor grinçant
  • À l'Ancre errant
  • Le Chandelier et le Crapaud

How it works

A game master often improvises a tavern where the players stop for a drink or to pick up a quest, and it needs a memorable name on the spot. This tool combines animals, objects and adjectives typical of medieval-fantasy vocabulary using several common naming patterns ("The [adjective] [animal]", "The [animal]'s Rest...", "The Inn of the...") to instantly suggest dozens of believable names.

Do these names work for settings other than medieval fantasy?

The vocabulary used (animals, objects, adjectives) mainly evokes a classic medieval or fantasy setting. For a different world (science fiction, contemporary), it's best to keep only the structure and adapt the words to your own theme.

Can I generate several names at once to compare?

Yes, enter the number of names you want (up to 200) in the field provided, then click "Generate": the list appears instantly and can be copied in one go to paste into your campaign notes.

Nothing is sent to a server: each name is composed directly in your browser's memory.
