Remove empty lines from text

Paste text containing empty lines or lines with only spaces: they are removed, keeping the order of the remaining lines.

Example:

How it works

Very handy when you copy text from a PDF or a poorly formatted web page: the content often ends up riddled with stray line breaks, one per sentence or even per word, which makes the text hard to read or reuse. Paste this text here and click "Remove empty lines": all lines that are empty or contain only spaces are removed, without touching the content of the remaining lines.

Does the tool also remove spaces inside a line?

No, only lines that are entirely empty (or contain only spaces/tabs) are removed. The textual content of the lines that remain is not modified: spaces inside a sentence, for example, stay as they are.

Is the order of the text preserved?

Yes, only the empty lines disappear: the order of the remaining lines strictly matches that of the original text.

Processing is entirely local, performed in your browser via WebAssembly: your text never leaves your computer.
