Simplified retirement savings calculator
Estimate the capital your savings could represent at retirement age, based on your monthly contributions and a constant annual rate of return. An indicative calculation, done entirely in your browser — no financial data is sent to a server.
How it works
The tool applies the classic compound interest formula: your current savings grow at the stated rate of return, and each additional monthly contribution also earns interest over the time remaining before retirement. The "equivalent purchasing power" result then adjusts this amount to account for inflation accumulated over the period.
Why show two amounts (future value and purchasing power)?
The "future value" amount is the raw number of euros you would have in your account at retirement, without accounting for rising prices in the meantime. "Equivalent purchasing power" translates that same amount into today's euros, giving a more realistic idea of what that sum will actually let you buy, since prices generally rise every year.
Is this calculation reliable for planning my actual retirement?
No, this is a simplified estimate for guidance only: it assumes a constant annual return (whereas financial markets actually fluctuate year to year), and it doesn't account for taxes, management fees, or public retirement pensions or specific schemes (PER, life insurance, etc.). For real planning, consult a financial advisor or an official simulator suited to your country.
What happens if my estimated return is negative?
You can enter a negative return to simulate a pessimistic scenario (average loss in value, for example in the case of high inflation without offsetting returns): the calculation remains valid and then shows a final capital lower than the total simply contributed.
The amounts and ages you enter stay only in your browser: nothing is saved or sent to a server.
