Savings goal calculator
Calculate the monthly amount to set aside to reach a savings goal (a purchase, a trip, an emergency fund...) within a set time, taking into account your current savings and any interest rate. No financial data is sent to a server.
How it works
Setting a savings goal (a down payment on a home, a trip, an emergency fund) becomes concrete once it's turned into a precise monthly amount to set aside. This tool first works out the expected growth of your current savings (if they earn interest), then calculates the constant monthly deposit needed to close the remaining gap within the time frame you choose.
What happens if I leave the interest rate at 0%?
In that case the calculation is purely arithmetic: the amount left to save (goal minus current savings) is simply divided by the number of months in the chosen time frame, with no interest growth.
Does the interest rate also apply to monthly deposits, not just the starting savings?
Yes, the calculation uses the annuity formula for constant payments: each monthly deposit also starts earning interest as soon as it's made, just as a savings account or an investment that automatically reinvests interest would.
This simulation stays local to your device: your financial goals are never sent to a server.
