How it works
Shoe sizes don't follow the same scale from country to country: the European system (Paris points), the American system and the British system all use different bases. This tool applies conversion formulas commonly used by manufacturers, adjusted for the men's, women's or kids' category.
Why does the conversion differ between men and women?
American and British size charts use different offsets depending on gender, even for the same foot length. An EU 39, for example, doesn't map to the same US number for a men's model as for a women's one — which is why it's important to select the right category before ordering a pair of shoes from abroad.
Is the conversion reliable for every brand?
No, it's an approximation based on standard charts. Some brands (especially sports or luxury ones) use their own last, which can shift the actual size by half a size or more. If in doubt, measure your foot length in centimeters and compare it with the brand's own size guide.
