Validate a sitemap.xml
Paste the contents of your sitemap.xml file to check its structure, count the URLs it contains and spot incomplete blocks.
How it works
A malformed sitemap.xml can prevent Google Search Console from processing it properly, which slows down the indexing of your pages. Paste the contents of your file before submitting it to check that it has a valid root (<urlset> or <sitemapindex>), that the XML is well-formed, and that every <url> block contains a <loc> tag.
What is the difference between urlset and sitemapindex?
<urlset> is used for a regular sitemap listing individual pages. <sitemapindex> is used for an “index” file that references several other sitemaps, useful for large sites exceeding the limit of 50,000 URLs per file.
What should I do if the tool reports a url block without loc?
Every <url> entry in a sitemap must contain a <loc> tag giving the page's URL. A block without <loc> is ignored or can make search engines fail to process the file — it needs to be fixed or removed.
100% local processing: validation runs entirely in your browser via WebAssembly — your file never leaves your device.
