Add a prefix or suffix to each line

Automatically insert text at the start and/or end of every line in a block of text — handy for turning a list into code options, HTML tags or a bulleted list. Nothing you type is sent to a server.

Example:

How it works

Very useful for preparing a list of quoted SQL values, turning file names into `<li>` tags, or adding a dash in front of each line of a shopping list. Paste your text, set a prefix and/or a suffix, then click "Apply".

Are empty lines modified?

Not by default: the "Skip empty lines" box is checked to avoid adding an orphaned prefix or suffix to a line with no content. Uncheck it if you want every line, including empty ones, to receive the prefix and suffix.

Can I use a prefix and a suffix at the same time?

Yes, the two fields are independent and can be filled in at the same time: for example, a `<li>` prefix and a `</li>` suffix instantly turn a plain list into HTML elements ready to paste into your code.

Processing happens entirely locally in your browser, and no line of text is sent anywhere else.
