Align text into columns
Align delimited lines of text (CSV, TSV, logs) into fixed-width columns for easier reading in an editor with a monospace font.
How it works
The tool splits each line using the separator you specify, calculates the maximum width of each column across all lines, then pads each cell with spaces so that all columns line up vertically. This is handy for turning a raw CSV or a log file into a readable table in a text editor with a monospace font, without needing to open a spreadsheet.
Can I use a separator other than a comma?
Yes, enter any character or string as the separator (a tab, a semicolon, a vertical bar...) in the dedicated field before running the alignment.
Is the result still a valid CSV file?
No, alignment replaces the original separator with formatting spaces: the result is optimized for human reading, not for being re-imported as is into a spreadsheet or a CSV parser.
Alignment runs entirely in your browser via WebAssembly — your data is never sent to a server.
