Text hash generator (MD5, SHA)
Calculate the MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256 and SHA-512 hashes of a text all at once, to quickly compare the different algorithms or get several hashes in one go.
How it works
Rather than recalculating a hash algorithm by algorithm, this tool produces the four most common hashes (MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-512) for the same text in a single click. Useful for quickly comparing the format or length of the different outputs, for filling in several fields of the same verification form, or for choosing the algorithm that suits your use case without going back and forth.
Why get several different hashes for the same text?
Each system or API sometimes expects a specific format: some legacy tools only accept MD5, while others require SHA-256 for security reasons. Generating all four at the same time saves you from guessing in advance which one will be needed.
Which algorithm should I choose for secure use?
SHA-256 is now the recommended default for most uses (signatures, integrity checksums, derived identifiers). SHA-512 produces a longer hash, useful for certain protocols. MD5 and SHA-1 are considered broken for security purposes and should only be used for low-stakes checks (quick checksums, compatibility with an older system).
Privacy: the calculation is done 100% locally in your browser via WebAssembly, and the text you enter is never sent to a server.
