Extract lines matching a pattern (email, date...)

Filter a text to keep only the lines containing a date, an email address or a phone number, using predefined regular expressions, or use your own custom regex for a different pattern.

Example:

How it works

The text is split line by line, and each line is tested against the chosen pattern. The predefined patterns cover the most common formats (generic email address, dates in DD/MM/YYYY or YYYY-MM-DD format, ten-digit French phone numbers), but you can switch to "custom" to use any JavaScript regular expression.

Do the predefined patterns cover every existing format?

No: for example, the "phone" pattern targets the common French format (ten-digit numbers starting with 0, with or without spaces/dots/dashes, or the international prefix +33) and won't necessarily recognize an international number in another format. The "date" pattern covers the '/' and '-' separators but not dates written out in words.

Does the result show the whole line or just the matching part?

The list shows the complete line (to keep the context) as well as the exact portion detected by the pattern, so you can quickly check that the right information was found, even on long lines.

Your lines of text stay local: the regular expression analysis runs entirely in your browser, with nothing sent to a server.
