Tip split calculator
Split the tip for a meal among several diners, either equally or in proportion to what each person consumed, so the final bill stays fair for everyone. No data is sent to a server.
How it works
When a group shares a meal with different individual bills, dividing the tip into strictly equal shares can feel unfair. This tool calculates the total tip from the sum of the amounts consumed, then splits it using the method you choose: in proportion to what each person consumed, or equally among everyone.
Which method should I choose: proportional or equal?
The proportional method is generally seen as the fairest: someone who ordered a more expensive dish pays a larger share of the tip, in the same proportion as their consumption. The equal method suits a group of friends who prefer to keep the math simple, regardless of what each person actually ate or drank.
Should the "consumed" amount include drinks and service?
Enter the amount as it appears on each diner's individual bill (dishes, drinks, dessert...), before the tip is applied. The tool then applies the chosen tip percentage to the total sum of all diners.
The amounts you enter stay strictly local to your browser and are never sent to a server.
