Convert TSV to CSV (and vice versa)
Convert tab-separated data (TSV) to comma-separated CSV, or the reverse. 100% local processing (WebAssembly).
Import a tab-separated export into another tool
This case often comes up after copying and pasting from Excel or Google Sheets, or after exporting a database: the data arrives tab-separated (TSV) while the destination tool (a CRM, a script, a web application) expects a standard comma-separated CSV file. Paste your tabular data into the text area, click "TSV → CSV", and get a result you can import directly elsewhere. The reverse conversion (CSV → TSV) is also available.
What's the difference between TSV and CSV?
Both formats store tabular data as plain text, one line per record. The only difference is the character used to separate columns: a tab for TSV, a comma for CSV. The data content stays the same, only the way columns are delimited changes.
Why do some tools export as TSV rather than CSV?
TSV avoids ambiguity when the data itself contains commas (an amount, an address, free text): since a tab is rarely present in the content, the risk of confusing a column separator with a regular comma in the text is much lower. That's why Excel and many database exports offer TSV as the default copy-paste format.
The conversion is performed 100% locally in your browser thanks to WebAssembly: your data is never sent to a server.
