User-Agent parser
Extract the browser, its version, the operating system and the mobile status from an HTTP User-Agent string, useful for debugging a browser compatibility issue.
How it works
The User-Agent string is sent by every browser with each HTTP request and contains clues about the software and system in use. The tool applies recognition patterns for the most common browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, Opera) and the main operating systems, which helps you make sense of server logs or reproduce a bug reported by a user.
Why does Chrome also include "Safari" in its User-Agent?
For historical compatibility reasons, most modern browsers based on WebKit or Chromium include "Safari" in their User-Agent. The tool therefore checks for Chrome, Edge and Opera first before falling back to Safari, so it identifies the real browser correctly.
Is the detection 100% reliable?
No, the User-Agent string can be spoofed or customized by the user or an extension, and many recent browsers deliberately limit the information it contains. This is a tool for indicative analysis, not a guaranteed source.
100% local processing: the analysis runs entirely in your browser via WebAssembly — the string you enter is never sent to a server.
