How it works
In France, paid leave is generally earned at a rate of 2.5 working days per month worked, or 25 days for a full year (2.08 days in business days depending on the agreement). This tool calculates the number of days earned pro rata to the time worked over the period, adds any carryover, then subtracts the days already used to get the remaining balance.
Why is the result rounded to the half day?
Most collective agreements and payroll systems round earned leave up to the next half day rather than to the nearest tenth of a day, to keep it manageable in a schedule. This calculator applies the same convention by default.
Does this calculation replace my official balance?
No: it's a generic estimate based on the values you enter. Your exact balance depends on your collective agreement, your contract and your employer's specific rules (split leave days, RTT, seniority...) — always check the balance shown on your payslip or HR tool.
