Resize a video
Import a video, choose a target width (the height is calculated automatically from the original proportions, or set it yourself) and generate a resized copy. The resulting file is exported in .webm format (a limitation of the browser APIs used for this tool).
How it works
Each frame of the video is drawn, resized, onto a canvas in real time during playback. The video stream captured from this canvas (via canvas.captureStream) is then re-encoded on the fly using the MediaRecorder API, while the original audio track is attached separately so the result keeps its sound. That's why processing takes roughly as long as the actual duration of the video.
Shrink a video shot on a phone
A video shot on a smartphone is often much wider than needed for sharing online or embedding in a web page. Reduce its width (720 px or 480 px, for example) to get a lighter file that's faster to send, or to prepare a small preview clip to embed on a site.
100% local processing: resizing happens entirely in your browser using native video APIs (canvas, MediaRecorder) — your video is never sent to a server.
