Rotate or flip a video
Fix the orientation of a video shot the wrong way by rotating it 90, 180 or 270 degrees, or flip it like a horizontal or vertical mirror, right in your browser.
How it works
The tool applies an ffmpeg transpose video filter for rotations or hflip/vflip for mirrors, without ever re-encoding the audio, which is simply copied as is into the output file.
What's the difference between a 90° and a 270° rotation?
A 90° rotation turns the picture clockwise, while a 270° rotation gives the same visual result as a 90° counterclockwise rotation. Try both options if you're not sure which direction you need to straighten your video.
Do a horizontal mirror and a 180° rotation give the same result?
No, they're two different transformations: a horizontal mirror reverses the video left to right like a reflection, whereas a 180° rotation turns the picture completely upside down (top and bottom swapped in addition to left and right).
Does my video already have rotation metadata?
Some phones record the orientation in metadata rather than in the pixels themselves. This tool rewrites the pixels directly according to the transformation you choose, which guarantees consistent playback in every player, including those that ignore rotation metadata.
100% local processing: the transformation happens entirely in your browser via WebAssembly, and your video is never sent to a server.
