Change the speed of a video

Speed up or slow down a video, then download the result in WebM format.

Drag and drop a video here, or click to browse. 300 MB max.

How it works

This tool plays your video locally in the browser at the chosen playback speed, then re-records that stream live using the MediaRecorder API. Since recording happens in real time during playback, generation takes about "video duration / speed" seconds: a 2-minute video sped up 2x will take about 1 minute to process.

The result is produced in WebM format, the only format browsers can natively encode via MediaRecorder. If you need an MP4 file, you can then convert it with the site's video conversion tool or third-party software.

Will the sound's pitch change?

Yes, slightly, especially at extreme speeds. The browser changes the audio pitch along with the playback speed, because this tool relies solely on the browser's built-in resampling rather than on a dedicated pitch-preservation algorithm. This is a known limitation of web APIs, not something we can avoid here.

100% local processing: the video is played and re-recorded directly in your browser — it never leaves your device.
