Audio waveform generator

Turn a WAV audio file into a waveform image in SVG.

Example:
Drag and drop a .wav file here, or click to choose one50 MB max

How it works

Handy for visually illustrating a podcast episode on social media, creating an audio thumbnail for an online player, or simply visualizing the overall shape of a recording (spotting loud passages and silences at a glance). The tool reads the samples of your WAV file, groups them into a number of columns (the chosen width), computes the minimum and maximum peak of each group, then draws a centered vertical bar per column to represent the sound's envelope.

What file format do I get as output?

The result is a vector SVG image, which means it stays perfectly sharp regardless of the size at which you display or print it, unlike a bitmap image (PNG/JPEG).

Can I adjust the width and height of the image?

Yes. The width determines the level of detail of the waveform (the larger it is, the more columns are analyzed), and the height determines the maximum visual amplitude displayed for the loudest passages.

Privacy: the image generation happens entirely in your browser via WebAssembly — your audio file never leaves your device.
