XML diff (structured comparison)
Compare two XML documents element by element and attribute by attribute to see exactly what was added, removed or changed between two versions.
How it works
Useful for comparing two versions of an XML configuration, a data feed or a SOAP API response before and after a change. Paste both documents and click "Compare": each difference is listed with its path (for example personne/ville) and its type — addition, removal or modification.
How are repeated elements (same name, same parent) compared?
Child elements with the same name under the same parent are compared in the order they appear (the first with the first, the second with the second…) and indexed in square brackets, for example livre[0] and livre[1]. As with a JSON diff, simply reordering identical elements will be reported as changes at each affected position.
Are XML comments and formatting compared?
No: only elements, their attributes and their direct text content are compared. XML comments, processing instructions, indentation and line breaks don't affect the result, because they don't change the structure or data of the document.
100% local processing: the comparison runs entirely in your browser using the native XML parser — your documents never leave your device.
